From Concept to Functional Reality Content: VMI Studio approached us with a strong visual direction—a design that reflected their status as a global leader in Creative Technology. However, a static design concept is different from a living, breathing website.
Our mission was to take the client’s established aesthetic and bridge the gap between design and functionality. We needed to refine the User Experience (UX), fill in the missing interactive details, and engineer a backend that could support their vision without breaking the “Journey” brand guidelines.
Elevating the User Experience Content: While the visual identity was set, the usability required significant intervention. The provided designs looked stunning but needed digital translation to work for a global audience.
Missing Mobile Logic: The high-end desktop visuals didn’t naturally scale down to mobile. We had to interpret and redesign these layouts to ensure the premium feel didn’t collapse on smartphones.
Navigation Friction: The original concept prioritized aesthetics over findability. We had to subtly rework the user flows to ensure clients could actually find the “Luna” and “Digital Twin” pages without compromising the visual style.
Performance Reality: The design called for heavy media usage. Our challenge was executing this look without causing 10-second load times.
Technical Execution & UX Refinement Content: We didn’t just code what we were given; we improved it during the build process.
UX Improvements: We added hover states, transitions, and loading behaviors that weren’t in the original design but were essential for a “premium” feel.
The Luna Integration: We built a specialized layout for their tech products, ensuring the “Luna” sales platform felt distinct from the standard architectural portfolio.
Fidelity at Speed: We built a custom WordPress theme that respected the pixel-perfect margins of their design while implementing an aggressive caching and asset-loading strategy to keep it fast.
The final result is a seamless marriage of VMI’s creative direction and Abacus Plus’s technical engineering.
Faithful yet Functional: The site looks exactly as the client envisioned but functions better than they anticipated.
Global Accessibility: By refining the mobile experience, we opened their portfolio to clients viewing on tablets and phones in meetings, a key demographic for Real Estate sales.
Scalable Architecture: We handed over a system, not just a page. The modular backend allows VMI to continue expanding their “Our Work” section while maintaining the strict design constraints we codified.
